Biografi

Andreas Lundstedt from ALCAZAR

Andreas Lundstedt is a nationally famous soloartist in Sweden since his breakthrough in Swedish Melodifestivalen 1996. But in 1998 he, together with producer-guru Alexander Bard (from Army of Lovers) met up and started to plan and create the forming of Alcazar.

The members became Annikafiore, Tess and Andreas.

Their first single “Shine On” was a great success in Scandinavia, but “Crying at the Discoteque” made them conquer the rest of Europe for real. Their success story began and grew and for 20 years they performed all over Europe, and the world, delivering the new kind of Disco-influenced pop. During the later years the group had different constellations, but never without the main base of the group, Andreas and Tess.

They released albums and hit songs that took pop to a new level that again introduced the old Chic 70’s sounds for a new audience, but with a modern touch. To this day they have sold over 12 million records.

Hits like “This Is The World” and “Physical” as well as a fantastic remake of Human League’s “Don’t You Want Me” made them a returning act on festival scenes around Europe through the years.

Andreas has through the years also managed to keep his solo career up-to-date. He played the lead part of the musical Saturday Night Fever in Stockholm, Legally Blonde in Malmö and has also written and released a book. He has been a host in different tv-shows, the most prominent being his own production and idea “I Will Survive” which was a 6 part tv documentary on the 70’s Disco rise and fall, aired in 2018.

Andreas has also performed in Eurovision Song Contest representing Switzerland with the group Six4One with the song “If we all give a little”.

In 2018 Alcazar declared they would split as a group after 20 years of great success. They went on a sold-out arena farewell-tour that ended in New Years Eve in Stockholm where Alcazar did their very last performance together.

During 2019 Andreas went on a jazzy intimate summer tour with only two musicians and himself, called “Disco Undressed”. It was a great success and Andreas and his boyfriend, nowadays with their base in Greece to where they have moved, produced a new show called “Andreas Lundstedt – Carpe Disco”. It became an enormous success and has put him back on top as a renowned soloartist after the Alcazar split-up.

He still takes time to perform around Europe to meet the Alcazar audience and see the wonderful Alcazarfans, because for him Alcazar will never die. Nor will the Alcazar music.

Andreas Lundstedt is, was, and will always be – Alcazar.
